Our matcha
Matcha from one farm.
Last updated
Every matcha drink at Cafe Meria, at 101 Mason St in downtown Charlevoix, Michigan, is made with Hikari, a single-origin ceremonial matcha from Matchaful. It comes from one farm in Shizuoka, Japan, not a blend of many. Sweeten it with raw honey, pure maple or one of our house syrups, or have it with nothing at all.
Where does our matcha come from?
Hikari is grown at Hattori Tea Farm in the hills of Shizuoka, Japan. Most matcha on the market is a blend from several farms, or is mixed with other green tea. Hikari is 100% Japanese matcha from a single source, made from first-harvest leaves and ground to order.
Matchaful describes it as smooth and creamy, with notes of walnut, lemon and butter, and robust enough to hold its own in milk. That is why it works so well in a latte.
